Please save the date September 14, 2013 for the 4th annual “Get Heeled 5K Run” on September 14, 2013 in Chapel Hill, which will be sponsored by the Mary Claire Satterly Foundation and other organizations which together support pediatric cancer.
The “Get Heeled 5K Run” is organized by The Pink Pacers, which is a group of women, men and children in the Research Triangle Park who are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of families affected by cancer in their local communities. The previous three “Get Heeled 5K” races have aggregately raised over $100,000 to support cancer initiatives. All of the race proceeds go to the UNC Lineberger Cancer Center, and are specifically directed to the Pediatric Oncology Department. This year, Mary Claire Satterly’s energetic and spirited enthusiasm will be especially remembered at the race’s celebration zone and awareness table named in her honor. Runners will pass the lively “MCSpirit- Zone” for any extra encouragement they may need to cross the finish line. A Mary Claire Satterly Foundation awareness table will also be set up where the runners are gathered before and after the race to share the Foundation’s mission, accomplishments and volunteer opportunities.
You can go to GetHeeled5K.com to register and learn more about the event.
